Bit surprised this hasn't already been spotted, but here we go...

Another one is promised shortly.

This guy usually interviews RPG people, and talks about old (and sometimes newer) CRPG's, and has a love affair with the good old Goldbox Games from SSI. This 'Chat' covers mainly Joel and his roots of wargaming, and you could tell the host was slightly out of his depth, but did a good job of keeping the ball going and letting Joel do the talking. Looking forward to the second instalment.

I especially liked the part about Gary Grigsby publishing his first games and getting a job at SSI via a tech support call to them in 1981...ahh, the coincidences in play back then. From Billings accidentally getting into computing, to Grigsby calling tech support for an early SSI game...what could have been if not for a few totally unplanned occurrences...

I thought so. I love these kinds of interviews, and to be honest, the Matt Chat guy is the only one who does it with the older guys and gals in any real depth. I only wish he also had a heavy bent for wargaming too. Luckily SSI brought out a lot of top notch CRPG's along with the wargames, otherwise we may not have seen this interview at all.
