Status: offline 		I first met Stan Musial in 1955. My Grandparents took me to a ballgame down at old Sportsman's Park. We arrived early and my Grandfather urged me to go down and join the group of youngsters gathered at the end of the Cardinal dugout hoping for autographs. I rushed down so quickly that I forgot to take our program or anything else for anyone to sign. About the time I realized this, Musial wolked over and began to sign autographs. When he got to me all I could think to do was stick out my hand. He took it solemly, then shook it with a big grin on his face. I'm sure he must have said something as well, but I haven't a clue what it might have been. "Stan the Man" was shaking MY hand. Talk about the rapture! And oddly enough, the kids holding autographs were congradulating me with envy afterwards. It's a memory I'll cherish until I pass away.

Status: offline 		So which is it, torpedo or bomb? You'll have to forgive Paul Vitello, he's their staff religion reporter. I've seen Broadway critics and food critics get the task of doing the obit for a veteran. If you're going to use someone who's not big on military history, sports writers are the best, the good writers gravitate there for some reason. Maybe some of you could make some extra jack doing some of these. Research the subject and write the obit before the guy dies, then they can put it on file for when he does and they only have to add date of death, cause (maybe) and survived by, then print it.
