Simply, I still have the original East Front manual (the cd's dissappeared around 1874 i believe ) i remember loving this game in the early 2000's and would like to play again. My questions are

How different is the updated game from the original and do they really all work perfectly in Windows 7?

The new game has a lot more capabilities and units, as well as more countrys to choose from. The campaigns are improved as well. I understand they work with Win 7, I can't say as I'm still using XP!! Win 7 64bit. No issues apart from Map Editor screen refreshment, which was adjusted by disabling Desktop composition property of that particular .exe

The new Matrix version comes with my recommendation as well. I still have the original CDs but hardly ever use them anymore. I keep the boxes for purely nostalgic reasons
