watching the element file of CC, I didn't remember that he floors had a height of 4m (8), is a height of 0 more logical? I know that the roof is 4m above the element but I find it strange.

As I see that this thread flourishes , I go further : is it normal that element that are only 1m high (stone fence) have high values for the high and medium cover and protection? Are these values not for the protection of standing soldiers?

Hi,
In the workbook, you'll notice that in Column 1 "Height", each number increase equals 1/2m of height ("Height of element in 1/2m").
In the case of "floor" elements ... that height gives each level of a building a specific height.
The value of Column 1 relates to Column 47 "Building Level" ... in that it gives a height to a building level.

If you right click in game you can see the height (in meters) that each building level represents in relation to the ground height.
For example:
wood floor is the same height as ground level
wood floorL2 is 6 meters higher than ground level
wood floorL3 is 12 meters higher than ground level

If you change the value of Column 1 "Height", to 0 instead of 8 ... you will not see any change in the data when you right click on the different floor levels as described above.
But, you will not be able to have line of sight over a building of lesser height (lesser level) after you've made this edit.

Therefore, soldiers in a building with wood floorL3 should have line of sight over a building with wood floorL2 ... the value of 8 in Column 1 allows this to happen. If you change the 8 to a 0 ... then all floors will be the same height as far as line of sight is concerned, regardless of what level they are assigned in Column 47.

Cover is how likely it is for the terrain to protect the soldier from incoming fire. A 1m wall covers about 50% of a standing man, so it's rated 256 (out of 512) for medium cover. High cover is only used for vehicle. Protection is how durable the cover is if it does get in the way. The stone wall has '9', which is enough to stop small arms fire.
