Hi Folks,

Just learning this game and I was wondering how many B-17s the more experienced players have left in... lets say Feb 4, 1943. I have 10 B-17E and 21 B-17F with no reserves. What do ya do?? Just stand back and not hit back at all? I'd have to give up drinking to play like that.

Cheers,
Guy

I used mine to train up new pilots once the b24s come out.

Last (first, and only) time I got to 1943 as Allies, I barely used my B-17s. Didn't need them, I kicked Japan AI's butt so hard.

I've since restarted on Ironman... Really wishing I had more of them. I'm going to guard them like the crown jewels once I have enough to conduct real air ops (still in January '42).

But I will never stoop to using the B-18 for anything but CONUS ASW when it comes to operations. And 40% ASW/40% training/20% rest, at that.

I have used B18 in India, if I recall i was also down to using the Audax as well.

In that game AI had moved some 500 SE Fighters into Burma, sweeping with 200+ at a time, as you say, you gotta use something.

IRL, some of the RAAF higher ups were happy that the Anson and Battle would suffice for Home Defence, we had around 300 of each in Flying Training Schools.
