I accept for game reasons that build times should be adjusted,but taking the Battleship unit as an example here at 10 turns,is far to short 1 turn = 2 weeks in real time,so 10 turns = 5 months!

Now in history the very first Dreadnought built,ie HMS Dreadnought built in secret,took approx 1 year to build,so in game terms, the quickest a Battleship counter should take to build, and be available for use in game = 24 Game turns !

I think there were probably a few capital ships that were actually built once the war had started - the Renowns? Furious and the Courageous-class? These took just under 2-years. iirc the others completed during the war were laid down before the outbreak of war.

Just under 2 years to build in game terms would mean roundabout 40 turns.

Building ships - certainly capital ships - should be a rare occurence indeed. a) because of the construction times, b) because of the cost - both as per the real war (the building of subs and escorts is more likely).

For this reason, the need to keep the fleets safe should be of major concern to all powers - but especially the British and Germans.
