So I am in the middle of the steep learning curve to get started with the game. In my experience, difficulties understanding the intricacies of the game engine are a major hurdle for players to ever start H2H play in a wargame.

Now there is a lot of information on this site, but I wondered if it maybe is a good idea to have a thread where players can share their techniques (so not strategies), as to help other players execute their strategies in a more optimal manner. The best games are surely where one player's strategy and strategic reaction to events are superior to the other player, not where one player gets behind the curve because he is using the game engine in a sub-optimal manner.

So please, feel free to share your techniques that you feel will help other players get a better understanding of what to do in the game! Whether or not via a link to one of your previous posts

Repetition. The more and more you do it and understand how things work, the more it will all come together. I started with small scenarios and then jumped into the grand campaign. I am also doing a PBEM with four other players. That alone has helped me understand stuff I thought I understood to begin with.

Just follow some of the ongoing AARs. 90% of what I have learned about the game has come from this.

And don't forget, most of the thrill comes from doing it yourself, just as most of the participants had to work out how to use Fast Carriers and Ampibious Fleets in the face of the enemy.
