Tiller was never with Matrix. His early games were published by an outfit named Talonsoft. Matrix obtained the rights and after updating them for compatibility with the newer Windows O/S released them in the current affordable collections. John then moved to HPS Simulations and continued to produce his various series of Civil War, Napoleonic, World War II, and Modern battle and campaign games. He recently left HPS and set up his own shop. I've heard various explanations, but I think it was to gain control over distribution. He now sells exclusively through his own download store so you can't go to NWS and get them discounted. He also has DRM which HPS didn't have. Personally I wish he had stayed with HPS, but I understand the move. Haven't bought anything from him though... this new game will probably be my first. I'm always up for a PBEM on Tiller Civil War or Napoleonic games if anyone is interested :)
