Ok thinking about playing AE Again but i want to speed things up so i was wondering if i was to play 2 day or 3 day turns if the planes/units are going wipe them selfs out attacking targets you set them, no knowing how much airpower/CP they have! in 1 day turns its no ploblem but 2-3 days turns? also after setting this in setup i guess it locked and cannot be changed back to 1 day turns ( game is not installed ).new update could be a nice time to start again!

hi tigercub,

i've been playing vs. the AI w/ 2-day turns. it 'speeds up' the play, but you must be careful w/ air-attacks. use recon to check your targets, provide fighter escorts for your air-strikes. except for specific strikes, all my front-line groups are set to minimum 30% Rest. if you use 2-day turns, you must be careful to strike against weakness & defend against strength.

my game is vs. the AI, & i have no problem switching between game-turn length from the Preferences screen - sometimes i change to a 1-day turn interval, for a good battle or to align my save-turns into empty slots in the available queue.

No, in a PBEM game you cannot switch back to 1 day turn. I've played a PBEM with 2-days-turn and i can tell you that it's much much harder but also it offers a completely different game play. Especially for naval operations... 2 days-turn it's a blast!

I was told you could. There is a delay though. Both sides have to agree to switch, you play a turn at the regular speed, and then the following turn is converted to the new turn selection.

not an update - when you assign a Group Mission (except Training) to an airgroup, use the Patrol Level buttons to manage the planes, one of the choices is Rest. a fighter group might be assigned to Escort, w/ 60 CAP & 40 Rest.
