I guess a relatively old dog can learn a new trick. Seems there are embedded emergency allied forces for an empire invasion of Socotra. Wow!

Kudo's to the design team. Even after all these years, I am but the young patawan learner.
Also, I give my esteemed opponent cudo's for agressiveness...he defiantely puts balls in the bull.

They aren't the only ones.

Unless something's changed, invading Socatra does not trigger the emergency reinforcements.  Q-Ball and I went through this very carefully in our game (AE, Scenario Two) a couple of years ago.  Or did we get it wrong after all?

Gentlemen,

This scenario we are playing is a mod, orginally designed on or around beta patch K and using Ironman as the base. It is a supercharged empire case well beyond historical capacities. This is a new game started with the latest official patch. Below is the information. I am curious if these are the India Homeland invasion reaction forces duplicated?

truncated OPERATIONAL REPORT FOR Jul 17, 42
--------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------
Australia invaded! Counter invasion forces released.
New Zealand invaded! Counter invasion forces released.
Middle East/Africa invaded! Counter invasion forces released.
xAKL Kibi Maru is reported to have been sunk near Hakodate on Jul 17, 1942
No.34 Sqn RAAF is delayed as arrival base is unavailable
507th Coast AA Regiment arrives at Los Angeles
NW Aus Aviation Rgt is delayed due to arrival base (Katherine) not available
XXI Indian Corps arrives at Aden
6th Indian Division arrives at Abadan
10th Indian Division arrives at Aden
Waziristan Division arrives at Karachi
31st Armoured Division arrives at Aden
8th Indian Division arrives at Aden
Emergency Convoy Supply Convoy arrives at Aden
5th Indian Division arrives at Aden
XXI Corps Engineer Battalion arrives at Aden

Something has changed. They added the country code used for the bases on/near Africa and the Arabian Peninsula to trigger the Indian emergency invasion reinforcements. I don't recall precisely when, it might have been added last year (meaning it is in the latest official release).

The case was made that invading those bases could only be interpreted as a direct move on India and warranted the same response.

I recall that too and believe it is the case, but I just spent twenty minutes looking over Release Notes and I'll be darned if I can find the entry. I searched on a dozen search terms as well. Looking over the Notes is a good exercise to do every once in awhile. Many things which were changed refreshed in my memory now.

I vaguely recall that I even tested it to verify.

I can't find reference to it in release notes and such either. I suspect that might be because they don't give exact information about emergency invasion reinforcements, for example you had to run test to confirm the various geographic tripwires.

Yeah, those were a couple of the search terms I used.

I also don't know if this would qualify as a gameplay change, a DB change, or a tweak. The various categories of alterations haven't been quite consistent over the years of upgrades.

Is that ALL? Where are the troops and aircraft triggered by the direct threat to the USA? Canoerebel has established that Socotra is vital to US interests because if it is taken by the enemy, all the shipping from Eastern US/Panama to Capetown will be halted, causing serious constipation in the pipeline! This would certainly be bad for the health of the US war effort!
