This is a tough one, particularly with canvas being draped over the turrets and decks. But this is a cruiser, and the photo was taken in 1945.

Can you guess which ship?

I know the Indianapolis was covered with tarps and canvas whilest 'the gadget' was being loaded aboard, but I've never seen pictures of the coverage. Still, that's my guess.

ETA: My Google-fu shows that La Argentina is correct.

A little !!!
The design was based on British practice, being modified to meet the requirements of the Argentinians for a training ship with 60 cadets. This ship was an enlarged version of the Arethusa class, armed with triple turrets.

Yep, Barny is right, it's ARA LA ARGENTINA

This photo is when she was in New Orleans for a refit, right at the end of the war, after Argentina joined the Allies

Good guess, that was fast!
