Status: offline 		Yes, I know, I am overdue with the carrier battle guide. And am slow with my WitP turns. There are good reasons for this.

Usually its my kid. Or my girl. Or my job. Or Christmas aproaching too fast.

But then...sometimes its just fun with the cat on the eastern Australian coast...

Love that plane.

Status: offline 		LST, my hardware is not that impressive. 3 year old Phenom II quad @ 3.2GHz, Radeon 4850GT GPU...
The LCD is rather nice though and I run the game at 1920x1080 res.


Guys this is not so special as it seems, it is just FSX (released in 2006), with some really nice 3rd party payware addons. Takes a lot
of patience to tweak for it to look realistic, but then its quite nice.


Plane is the PBY 5A by Aerosoft. They belong to the best payware plane designeres out there. The simulated model even includes
realistic cold engine startup, carbourator icing, fouled spark plugs, shock cooling and so on, and also the original Sperry A-3A autopilot.

Easily makes you feel like you are in the real plane.

Its the Family Islands, about 70nm south from Cairns. The small airfield where I landed is Dunk Island airport, in FSX it is (wrongly)
a gravel strip, nowerdays its a small asphalt runway.

On upwind leg (pic# 5) you have a nice view to the south, with Richards Isl in the foreground, further back Wheeler, Coombe, Smith-Bowden,
and Hudson Reef. Even further back is Goold Island, and the mountaintops of Girrigun and Hinchinbrook National Park.
