Never saw this pic before today. Care to name the ship about to be hit?

USS White Plains (CVE-66) on 25th October 1944. The Zeke from Tokkotai Unit 25 is about to crash into the sea close astern. The plane did not hit the carrier, but the explosion damaged her enough to send her back to San Diego for repairs.

You got the ship correct, but caption that came with this pic sez:

Kamikaze about to hit USS White Plains

Here is an incredible and dramatic photo of a Japanese Zero kamikaze aircraft
a split second away from hitting the deck of the American escort carrier USS White Plains.
This aircraft was in the same wave of kamikazes that hit and sank the USS St Lo.
The White Plains was badly damaged by this hit, but survived,
and indeed survived the war, and was eventually broken up in 1959.

Kamikaze Attacks of World War II by Robin Reilly says:

"Shortly after St. Lo was hit, a Zeke made a run on White Plains. White Plains turned sharply to port as the plane made its dive. Her maneuvers were successful and the plane narrowly missed her, splashing close aboard her port side. The ensuing explosion sent parts of the plane and pilot up onto the deck. Although the plane had missed her, eleven of her crew suffered injuries."

The caption on my version of the photo says that the Zeke crashed into the sea and that the carrier was damaged by the resultant explosion. This photo was taken just before it.

White Plains was never hit. It was near miss that damaged the ship.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that you were wrong. As I said, I only saw this pic for the first time today. I thought it was a great pic, so I posted it. What I said in my original post was based on what the caption that came with the pic said. I was only giving the source of what I said.
