Status: offline 		In a hard fought campaign vs Viberpol. Scen #2. Dec 18 1944.

It takes some work getting a pilot to 20 kills and keeping him alive.

How are the rest of you guys making out? Email games only. Vs the AI is a different story. Show me the screenies.

Status: offline 		I'm pretty sure cr has turned my green button red, but somebody please direct him to my current AAR as I've posted something that he might be interested in. I'm only in March of '42 but it is responsive to his request and I think somewhat interesting.

You could just make a screen cap of it and post it here if you think it relevant.

Status: offline 		Yep it seems in line with mine. Hard to get the up over 20 especially for the Japanese player. Come on guys lets see a few more. Anyone got a Japanese ace with 30 kills? It seems like the real dangerous time for my pilots is when they reach around 10 kills. A lot seem to die when they hit that mark. After 15 kills they have a higher rate of survival.

Status: offline 		I have a question that is somewhat related. How do people normally use the 'get veteran' button on a group screen when adding pilot(s). It seems that I would have to be stealing from another group to even use it? I have vets in TRACOM, but can't seem to pull those in? What am I doing wrong? Still a lot of unknowns for me on this page and the information -> manage pilots page(s). Any good links to tutorials on how to best manage the pilots aspect of WitE:AE?

I really need to find a way to attempt to preserve my CV pilots experience as I rebuilt my deplete CV squadrons. Recently had large CV battle (PH #2... mistake in hindsight) which was in my favorable for capital & CV ship lost ratio, but I suffered massive elite pilot loses.

Thanks for any tips.

The 25th Sqdn from the 51st FG is a gun unit now.

Here's mine in my now (unfortunately) defunct scenario 1 1943 PBEM:

ETA: You'll note no CV fighter jocks on the list. In this game, KB is largely intact (and expanded). It's been used sparingly and is still a potent and untapped force.

Hey-commander hardass! Are you going to give DW Peterson a trip back home or what? He's flown a combat sortie nearly every day of the war, for goodness sake! Hasn't he done enough? B. Welch wants to know what a guy's gotta do to get off the line and go to TRACOM too.

Status: offline 		I don't have the screenshots but if i remember correctly i had a squadron of Spit VIII who fought the whole war from Karachi to Hokkaido...the avg of the exp of the squadron was 93 with several pilots well above 50 kills....those guys were simply unbeatable!

Status: online 		well these are my pilots in my current GC....
one should mention that most the fighting was done by the same few squadrons up to now - mostly over Geraldton, Cue and Mekhrararaaawhatsitsnameagain...
only British and Marine-planes were capable of handeling 180 Oscar sweeps :)
all other squadrons have been training furiously... but never got a chance to "show off".... I guess that has to do with the fact that we're playing on PDU OFF and most squads are stuck with Aircobras and P40E - which are both useless on CAP with our 2nd best MVR rule in place....

Rev Rico, Download a free utility called Greenshot. It is idiot proof and when you want a screenshot you just hit you "prtscn" key and it is done. Somebody posted it on this board and I am passing it on.

Usually they fly until they die but after losing Brigadier Lawlor who had 22 kills very early on, I "did" allow Brigadier Armistead the chance to go to Tracom. But I see your point and tonight I will flip a coin. Either B Welsh or D.W. Peterson will get a trip back to the states to do some PR. But the other will fly until he gets 30....After all, we are fighting a war here.

BTW, Brigadier Lawlor got all his kills in a P40. His first mission in the new P47 and he failed to return. It was his fate..

On my XP system I do ...

1. Hit Print Screen Button
2. Alt-Tab to desktop.
3. Start the Paint program from the menu.
4. Select Edit - Paste - this will dump your screenshot into the Paint program.

The only problem is this dumps your entire screen, which probably is more than you really need. So, to fix this, using the Paint program ...

1. Use the Select tool (the dotted-line rectangle) to select the part that I want. I click on the top-left corner of the area I want and drag to the bottom-right corner.
2. Select Edit - Copy - this copies the selected area to the clipboard.
3. Select File - New - the Paint program will ask if you really want to throw away your screenie. Yes, that's ok.
4. Select Edit - Paste - this pastes the area you selected in step 1. and copied to the clipboard in step 2. Now you have the part of the screen you really wanted. Now you can draw lines, add text, whatever. When done, ...
5. Select File - Save As - this is NOT File - Save. Then, for 'Save as type', be certain to select JPEG.

And you're done. You *should* now have a jpeg image you can upload or whatever.
