hey guys I just been wondering what sort of specs you run DW on.
Right now I run on a radeon 6850. 4gigs ram, Core I3 34.ghz. Nice budget pc. I didn't want an excessive amount of processing power because in researching, I see games don't use more than one core really but mostly rely on clock speed still. More cores is beneficial more for multi-tasking otherwise.
Anyway, I don't think the 3d card has much of an effect on DW, since DW is a 2d game. Which is why I think DW would improve tons in performance if it was rendered in 3d, because theres nothing in DW that could bring the latest gfx cards which can render millions of polly's to its knees.
I think that DW as a 2d game and with the amount of stuff happening in the galaxy, that the most taxed component is the CPU. Has anyone here played DW and upgraded to faster or better chips and noticed better performance over the years?
Also has anyone ever upgraded their ram and noticed an improvement?
I am thinking of going up to core i7 and more ram :)
In my advanced game, where research is full, everything is fleshed out and lots going on, 50 ship battles stutter slightly. Not a frame rate night mare to be sure, but just seem to stutter too much for my liking,
