Its the United Kingdom vs Sweden in this AAR.

Turn 1 - 23rd July 1914

Central Powers
The Ormster opens with a standard 3-Infantry attack on the Serb Garrison 2 hexes west of Belgrade. Wipe-out

Entente
In response Crown Prince Alexander gives Field Marshal Putnik a stirring pep talk... whereupon the Serb army sit on their collective behinds.... no seriously I forgot to move my Garrison near Nis

Turn 2 - 30th July 1914

Central Powers
I think Orm is going all out for Belgrade - no attacks but plenty of AH movement around the capital.

Entente
I move my Garrison north like I should have done last turn - I hope not too late - and then wait for developments.

Turn 3 - 6th August 1914

Central Powers
Clever move Ormster It wasn't an attack on Belgrade, instead the AH moves on Nis. My forgetfulness is punished already....

In Belgium, Liege gets pounded into oblivion.

Entente
Angry with myself, the Serbs attack Sarajevo and take a point out of the Garrison there. I also smack the AH Garrison nearest Belgrade with a 4-0.

Not happy that I haven't done anything stupid this turn, I then move my armoured car out of Antwerp. I wanted to follow-up an attack by my Brussels Infantry but the odds are too great.....

I move spare French Armies north to plug the gap north of Verdun.

I was to cautious to launch an all out attack on Belgrade. I probably should have but instead I tried to manouver to get in better positions. Bah!

Turn 4 - 13th August 1914 (cont)

Warspite orders the French to take up position south of the Seine and at the same time launches a number of rubbish attacks to try and stall the rampant hun!

The British Army meanwhile head for the boats to France and the Garrison in Egypt heads for Gaza.

In Serbia, the Serb Army get carried away, the Infantry guarding Belgrade's west flank goes on the attack and is joined by 2 Garrison, trying to nip the bulge developing between Belgrade and Nis.

Turn 5 - 20th August 1914

Central Powers
The Germans push west at a rate of knots, removing the last Belgian from the game and threatening Paris itself.

The AH Army are making a concerted effort to take Nis, while in the East Warsaw has fallen to the Germans.

Entente
In response the Russians try and group their disparate armies together, the French are a shambles and the British are still stuck in the Channel

Turn 6 - 3rd September 1914

I've just realised a problem with posting screenshots... Orm can see my units!!

I think AAR's are a bit dull without piccys so I'll have to think about that one.... may be post the AAR a few turns behind?

Anyway. The Germans have continued their relentless pursuit of the French and the Russians. In the west Rouen has fallen to the grey hordes, while in the East they push on Brest-Litovsk.

Meanwhile at sea, A German sub has taken 2 infantry points in the Channel, while in the Adriatic the AH navy has sunk a French cruiser.

Ouch!!

Well if you post the same AAR in the same thread that can be a problem yes, you can either post it with a delay, or you can black out those units you do not want Orm to see. Usually opponents stay out of each others thread, taking a peek is considered cheating... well depending on the game really, it's not always considered as cheating.

Turn 7 - 17th September 1914

The Germans continue to push the French in all directions - the French army is now split in two and trying to form a line somewhere....anywhere....

Turn 7 - 17th September 1914 (cont)

The Serbian army are in freefall. They have been skillfully dislodged from their defensive positions and their days are clearly numbered....

Meanwhile in Russia its all about consolidation of the line awaiting the next onslaught...

Nice AAR - one question: Is there diplomacy in this game? Any ability to influence neutrals?

Diplomacy can only be influenced by your actions on the field. Some examples:

Sink too many British and French convoys and the American's will join the Entente faster.
Be the first nation to use the gas technology, and all nations which are considering joining your enemies will join faster. Neutral nations favourable to your alliance may also delay their declaration of war.
Declare war on Turkey early and... well, I won't spoil that one for you

You can read a bit about these effects by reading the descriptions in the diplomacy panel.

There should be an option to turn gas use on or off. As it is currently, it is more or less a matter of who researches it faster. You can't stop useing your artillery just because you researched gas...

Turn 9 - 15th October 1914

The situation in Serbia is beyond redemption.... The British and French Fleets are sunk as Belgrade falls to the rampant AH.

In France its just more of the same as the French and British objective is to form whatever line they can (preferably behind rivers)...

Turn 10 - 29th October 1914

The Germans seem to have split their army into Infantry in the west and Garrisons in the East. The French leave a Garrison in Verdun to delay the insatiable German juggernaut, while a British army builds up south and west of Rouen.

By operating your fleets in AH's back yard, you could be in for some trouble Mr.W!!

Turn 11 - 12th November 1914

Well I'm really glad this is all going to be over by Christmas ..this is proving a distinctly uncomfortable experience

More repair and re-organisation is the order of the day in order to try and repair shattered lines in France. The Serbian Army has just about ceased to exist - one more turn should do it .

And just to compound misery corner... the Turks are in the war!!

Can it get any worse for the Entente?....I think I know the answer to that....

Turn 12 - 26th November 1914

Not much to report here. The German sub fleet re-appear in the Channel and I continue to get a general kicking, aside from that, its all fairly quiet

Orm, any chance that you have a sudden urge to go goat herding in Nepal and have to abandon the game?
