Sorry if I missed it, but how does someone win the game? Get so many points? Take certain objectives? etc. Also, is the total turn limit hard coded, meaning you can't go beyond a certain limit? Or can you continue if desired?

To get a major victory, you need to get all your opponents to surrender. You can also achieve a minor victory by achieving certain objectives before the end date. You get a certain number of 'stars' for each objective, and the more stars you have the better the victory. You can check them out in the management panel.

The turn limit can be modded, so you could play until everyone is defeated. In the management screen there are stars for victory conditions. I guess when the turn limit is hit whoever has the most stars wins. :)

Guess this would help, the mod.

Thank you...as for surrendering, what typically forces an opponent to surrender? Loss of units? Loss of cities? etc.

Nations surrender when their 'National Morale' reaches 0%

The most important factors affecting national morale are army size, army performance, and lost cities.

That's a very brief summary, but I hope it helps!

They generally seem to surrender very late (at least on ballanced). To get Russia out of the war, I had to advance to a line including Petersburg, Moskau and Rostov. It is the same for the other major countries. To get Germany and France to surrender before 1918, you basically have to take almost all their cities.
