Status: offline 		I stumbled upon this game, not really looking for a new challenge but something drew me in, Warspite's AAR helped some. So I decided to a AAR from the Central Powers perspective. I've played a game vs. the AI already, up till Italy entered the war. Just to get a feel for the mechanics. I really like the AI in this game, it doesn't always punish you...as in destroying a unit by putting itself in a more difficult position. It kinda looks long term IMO.

So here is my strategy with the CP:
1. Quality over quantity...I'm going to try to go for majority of infantry units versus garrison ones.
2. Focused research for Germany.
2A: Infantry first! The bread and butter of the line!
2B: Airpower over Artillery!?! I'm kinda betting that airpower is more mobile and allows for better options for offensive choices.
2C: Ignore Seapower for Vehicles. The tank is my main goal for this.
3. General research for AH and Turkey, focused on maintaining my ground forces up to date.
4. Serbia at all costs, before Italy enters!
5. Russia threat first...The cossacks really start coming on in 1915

Here is the beginning movement for AH, note I have researched Industral Warfare and bought 1 Inf.

AH Pushes across the river to close in on Belgrade. Decided to do a spoiling attack against Serbian position NE of Sarajevo....bad idea...lost 4 unit health

GERMANY ENTERS WAR!!! France awaits British help.
German surface fleet has sortied into the Baltic to protect convoys there. Sub force heads for the English Channel.
All quite on the AH front, minor probing attacks by Serbian units. Reinforced units for next attacks.
Liege falls with some multiple prong attacks, then I did a stupid thing by attacking Brussels with my Cav. unit
Purchased 1 inf. for both Germany and AH.
Germany started research on the Infantry Grenade.

I'm not sure that's a stupid thing tbh. Sure, you took casualties over the odds, but if you're going to try the Schlieffen plan a speedy fall of Belgium is needed, and you can't achieve that without taking on some risky attacks.

Serbian front remains calm for now, new troops arriving to assist in conquest.
Western front is still fluid, Brussels falls but French salient into my lines remains strong Prepositioned sub forces where I think the Brits will come, hopefully they won't be escorted...
Purchased 2 inf. for Germany and 1 inf. for AH.
Started new research for both countries, Germany studies Specialized Shells and AH goes for Hydropneumatic Howitzer.

Status: offline 		I would suggest a hard push against the Belgian armoured car unit to open your next turn. They have the 'quick retreat' ability which makes then very bad at holding the frontline. I would try to wrap around the other Belgian armies and try to cut their supply.

Successful attacks, driving toward French territory! Germany purchased 1 inf. force, in training now. Research is still being made in grenades and shells.

I'm gambling that the AI will not attack my 1 strength Garrison unit

Its a big blank canvass. I will send all future German reinforcements to this front for the next few months. It will be "do as you can" here.

The AH will protect their cities until future troopers can arrive, a lot depends on how the Serbians react.

Making some minor moves trying to see if I can get the Serbians to shift forces for a favorable attack. Purchased 1 inf. unit, placed 2 new AH units in the Eastern Front. Research in industrial warfare and howitzers going along.

Major shift in French forces due to my penetration in the western flank. I believe they have fallen back to shorten their lines, but this allows me closer to Verdun! Contemplating about having 1 of the new inf. units to be brought to this front???

I will leave Antwerp for now, this is where I need that extra inf. formation. I will push to isolate Calais then consolidate and reenforce worn units.

Here also a major shift for the allies. Serbians fall back in the western sector to shorten lines allowing for great future movement to unbalance them. I will probably place the next AH inf. unit by Sarajevo to assist in that.

On the Eastern Front, minor movements for Russians westward.

Attacks in the Western Front go along well, my forces are worn and will refit next few weeks. I don't expect the inf unit by Calais to hold, but hopefully he'll survive the next round. British finally have forces in theater

The Balkan Front has little activity, Serbians push a Garrison unit back and AH hammers away at Belgrade.

Eastern Front is chaotic as CP forces rush to fill the line with forces. Lemburg falls to Russians, that will hurt AH some. I pulled back some in the center to avoid encirclement. Next few weeks will see all reinforcements arrive in this theater.

Western Front is quite, French push back one of my infantry units, most of my forces get replacements. Next turn I will try for Antwerp, it might take a few weeks to break it though.

Balkan Front is interesting, making some headway against stubborn Serbs. Next few turns should be able to break them and drive south!

Eastern Front is starting to settle down. Russians have been making a few moves. Destroyed a Russian infantry unit that was by Danzig earlier. Pounding Warsaw, but Russians will likely switch out garrison forces to hold on a little longer.

I put the casualties up for you to see. The AH are taking a beating and morale is slowly falling

Next turn some of my research for Germany will be done...grenades I believe. I will research barbwire next to protect what I got.

Western Front: Made attack against Antwerp, it will probably take some time to crack. Made a punishing attack against the undug in Brits with my Cav unit. Brought most units up to strength on this front.

Balkan Front: Belgrade is a loosing proposition for Serbia, they will loose it in the next 2 turns I believe. I will loose a Garrison force of strength 1 I'm sure, made a poor assault with it.

Eastern Front: Major success against Russian Baltic Fleet! Sunk it whole! That helped secure the future convoys survival I believe. Warsaw is under major attacks and should fall soon. I think AH will continue the defensive for the most part here.

As for research, it was AH completing Industrial Warfare this turn, I went on to Barbwire Fencing to help against the Russians.

I'm keeping my Production Points high for Germany in the next few turns to try and purchase an airship or subs....I think I'll go airship though to pound at Britain's PP's.

Status: offline 		CarnageINC what setting did you go for at the start i.e. how strong is the AI?

The French and Serbians either seem to have fallen back very quickly or you are a much better player than the Axis AI, forcing them to do so.

Warsaw falls finally, decided to try and push some more and weakened my forces in the center However, the entire front has stabilized well.

For the Western Front, I upgraded most of the units, still trying to get Antwerp.

AH throws in a massive attack to take Belgrade and as a bonus, destroys 2 Serbian units. I lost a Garrison unit to a full health Serbian infantry unit hiding just beyond sight. I suspect I'll reach Nis in about 4 turns...or so I hope

As for your question Warspite, I'm on Balanced setting.

Status: offline 		Turn 11: European Theaters 12 Nov. 1914

Western Front: Antwerp Falls! I did a probing attack against a garrison unit by Verdun. In addition I brought up most of the units up to strength.

Eastern Front: Dam dirty Russians launched attacks against AH positions forcing me to fall back to better ground and re-consolidated the best I could. Warsaw is the anchor that has to hold to keep the line intact....hopefully.

Balkan Front: Serbs must be conspiring with the Russians, they launch an assault with 3 new full strength infantry units! I cursed myself for saying 4 turns I'll get to Nis!!!

Turkey will declare war next turn, not that it will help Europe much right now.

I should have some research projects coming to fruit soon, Germany will have Barbwire next turn I think.

Western Front: Mostly quite, repositioned some units to attack Calais soon.

Eastern Front: AH units go on counter offensive and regain some territory.

Balkan Front: Serbs go deep and take Temeschberg, newly arriving troops will converge on Serbia to finish them off. AH Navy is engaged in their blockade and take some damage from 2 Cruiser forces, but striking back sinks a whole British transport fleet, probably containing a unit!

Middle East Front: Turkey finally shows up to the party, I spent 20 pp's to buy a lab to research infantry tree. This is a must do for Turkey or they will be left behind in no time! I start off with Industrial Warfare to bring up their defense ASAP! I'm also moving inf. units from the capital and the Caucasus Front to counter what I think will be a heavy Brit invasion.

Western Front: Finished updating all frontline units. Shelled a still undug in British unit. Other than that...all quite so far.

Eastern Front: Minor repositioning of units. Bad news is that their is a British sub force learking around the Baltic Manged to upgrade some German units in this theater

Balkan Front: Just some minor movements for next turns assaults

Middle East Front: Shot up a British Garrison force that was up front, still repositioning troops.

A lot of research opened up this turn. With the sub attack I can now research Depth Charges, which I'm doing for Germany. Along with that I'm researching Pillbox and Armed Aircraft for Germany. AH is researching Bombers, Pillboxes and the Howitzer still.

Western Front: Assault against Calais goes well, should fall next turn

Eastern Front: Minor movements on both sides to better positions

Balkans Front: Maneuvering forces for better assaults against what appears weakening Serbian forces. Withdrew AH Surface Fleet to refit.

Middle East Front: Probes on both sides, Turkish seem to get the better of the Brits this turn.

I'm again trying to build up German PP's to purchase one more lab. This is so I can research Vehicles.

Western Front: Calais Falls this turn, I will be repositioning my Garrison unit back to Antwerp

Eastern Front: Final AH units positioning themselves. No more reinforcements planned for either side here.

Balkans Front: Drive on Nis is helped by the fact the Serbs pull back their infantry units and leave a Garrison unit holding the city. I suspect that the unit will be switched out with a fresh one.

Stalemate this turn, I believe the Brits will launch a offensive next turn. I have a new infantry unit set to come in to play next turn. Also the Caucasus inf. unit is where I can rail him in too.

European Theater is quite, attacks went in against Nis. Both AH and Serbian units are getting worn and tired in the cold. Next turn should be a break through in that region. The northern units have arrived to be some help.

As for the Middle East, the awaited British offensive happens, destroying a Turkish inf. unit in the process . Lucky I had those two new inf. units arrive to slow the Brits advance.

I managed to purchase a new lab for Germany to research Caterpillar Tracks so I can get tanks! I should have some minor developments coming out in the next 2 turns.

Status: offline 		Turn 17: Middle East Front 4 Feb. 1915

Western Front: I launched an assault just west of Verdun, artillery and 3 infantry units attacked, wearing down the French infantry to 3pts.

Eastern Front: Russian launch some probing attacks but nothing comes to fruit for them.

Balkans Front: Nis falls! I believe there is 1 infantry unit just south of my LOS., surely the capital is guarded.

Middle East Front: All out assault against Brits salient, does some damage. This leaves, IMO, a dicey choice for the Brits, pull back some or risk losing that battered unit. I also purchased a infantry unit to help bolster the front.

As far as research goes, AH finally gets its howitzers online and for Germany, Anti-torpedo Bulge for ships is finished. I have left up research on the pic to show whats coming online shortly.

Western Front: Quite

Eastern Front: Minor probe attack by Russians. Convoy arrives intact...yeah

Balkan Front: Drive toward capital is going well, my AH units are fatigued and not in good fighting trim.

Middle East Front: Just gave all units replacements.

The PP situation for Germany is dire, I only get 16 PP's per turn and that is barely enough to get replacements for my units and I'm still trying to upgrade the Eastern Front units to their Mk III status. AH gets about 22 PP's. That's keeping the Balkan Front going...barely.
