This is a great AAR and has me about ready to purchase myself. Just curious if there is a screen that shows your progress towards winning the game, I believe in another thread it mentioned something like a management screen. Considering this is a first go I unconvinced that the game is that good at replicating WW1..especially how weak the Germans appear. I'd have been very impressed if the Germans had either 1, Taken Paris near the beginning which would show it will take an experienced player to hold them back or 2, At least hold the line until late '17 or even better until sometime in 18 or 19..Looks like the allies will win the War and the Americans haven't even come into it yet, not that they had much impact combat wise in the war but they did force Germany into the mass attack in '18 where they threw their all in and failed thus leaving them weak enough for the allies to hit them hard. If the game got to '19 I'd expect the American forces strong enough to have a major impact.

If this was an AAR of an experienced player I'd be alot more forgiving, but as it isn't (no offence warspite) it brings the game into doubt in eyes as it presently stands. I think it should be extremely difficult for the Allies to break the West pre '18 and even then only be able to break it in'18 if enough attacks had gone in over the years to weaken it. WW1 Gold does a superb job of making it tough and the game follows historical route more or less and only a superb player at certain times could change that. No idea about SCWW1 as I've never played it, however I think aWW1 game lives or dies by how well it can recreate trench warfare and the difficulty it causes trying to break out of it.

I wonder if some reworking needs to be done to make the Germans a formidable force at the start and then damn hard to break down later on.
