Hi,

How is a unit determined to be either in or out of supply?

Reading the excellent AAR I noticed the German fleet moving to Konisberg (?) in the Baltic to protect the convoy route from Sweden. Can enemy naval units intefere with this?

Cheers,
Lancer

A unit's supply depends on whether it has a direct path to a supply source (principally capitals and cities).

If a unit has a direct path (though friendly territory) to a friendly capital it will be on full supply. If a unit is connected to an isolated city but has no supply path to a capital, they will be on half supply. If a unit is cut off by enemy territory and has no access to a supply source, they'll be on no supply.

In addition to this, naval units can provide full supply to adjacent land units so you can supply isolated coastal hexes by sea.

Not sure if you second question is related to the supply question, but:

The British often send a submarine to the Baltic to harass these convoys. The Russian surface fleet also poses a threat but can't deal with the German fleet in battle. Submarines on the other hand are invisible until they attack. When they attack they remain visible for 1 turn, but can only be attacked by units that haven't moved yet = units that were already adjacent to the sub when it attacked. This means that in order to retaliate to a submarine attacking your convoys, you need to escort it ideally with 2 warships (one on each side).
