I´m trying to airlift a unit that has the 40mm M1 Bofors in its TOE. But it looks like I´m unable to do so? I checked the editor and it lists it at a load cost of 11. I´m using a C46A that have a list capacity of 10000. Range is 12

I have lifted the whole units but the Bofors guns remain. 3 in total of which 2 is disabled. The transports are listed in the OPs report as "transporting" and the name of the unit. The transports have been at it for 12 turns now without success.

Anyone have any ideas?

A device with a load cost of 11 can NOT be airlifted.

Thank you Alfred. That kind of explains it! Are the supposed to be non airliftable? They are actually not very big.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bofors_40_mm

Anyone have a workaround for situations like this? Anyway I can make the 3 40mm disappear from the TOE?

If you change a device size to '9' or less in the editor it can be air-transported. (A size of '7' or less, and it can be air-dropped, i.e. you don't need to fly it into a friendly base.) But that won't help you in an on-going game, only a new start.

Joc,

Are you saying the size rating on the 40 MM (11) is too large?

The question will be whether this was standard practice or just a one off for the camera....

Description
WARD'S DROME, PORT MORESBY, NEW GUINEA. 1942-08. IN THEIR SUCCESSFUL ATTACK ON NADZAB THE 7TH AUSTRALIAN DIVISION BECAME THE FIRST AUSTRALIAN DIVISION TO BECOME AIRBORNE. FOR DAYS BEFORE THIS DARING AIRBORNE ADVENTURE, THE TROOPS OF THE DIVISION TRAINED HARD IN BECOMING EFFICIENT IN DISMANTLING THEIR GUNS, EQUIPMENT AND GEAR FOR LOADING IN, AND UNLOADING FROM, TRANSPORT PLANES. TWO HULKS OF DOUGLAS C47 DAKOTA AIRCRAFT WERE USED FOR PRACTICE AND THE AIM WAS TO LOAD THE PLANE IN FIFTEEN MINUTES. THIS PICTURE SHOWS A DISMANTLED 40MM BOFORS GUN IN A TRUCK READY TO BE BACKED AGAINST THE DOOR OF THE AIRCRAFT.
