Withdrawing Italians

Post by mmarquo »

Playing the latest patch, I am getting ready for turn 100 (5/13/1943), and many Italian Units appear ready to withdraw; however the withdrawals are not indicated on the withdrawal schedule or in the unit box; what's up?

Thanks

No idea. Can you attach a save file please?

I have saves from an older .exe version showing it to happen first on the first turn of May 1943 with a lot of italian units (including some air bases) listed as withdrawing in CR but without notice in event log. What's even more strange a player is able to change the from Refit to Reserve or Ready (via commander's report).
I reported it in the multiple issues thread and also to Pavel but it may not be completely fixed yet. The ability to change the unit status was new to me though.

OK I see bug report BG0090 covers some Italian 8th Army units withdrawing without notice in the Event Log. So it's on the list to get fixed at some point.

They seem to be hardcoded withdrawals thus they are not bound to the usual rules regarding withdrawals. If these units are to be withdrawn at a certain date this should be moved to softcoding via scenario data update.

According to the manual, each Italian unit randomly checks each week for withdrawl, and if selected, it goes into withdrawl mode, will be listed on the withdrawl screen and be withdrawn four weeks later.

They were neither in the withdrawal screen nor was there a notice upon withdrawal. I'll have to re-test older saves with the recent game version though.

My Italians simply say Withdrawing, and there is nothing more anywhere.
