Actually, you're both wrong. A Japanese sub came into LA and kidnapped all the munchkins. That's who you're seeing. They thought they could manage their sub based aircraft more efficiently.

By the way, phonetically "rorripopguird" means "screaming devil from the sky" in Japanese, in case you didn't know.

It's a Heinkel.

Built for the IJN in the late 1920's. Looks almost like a E2N which might have borrowed - or vice versa - much from it.

Close enough, it's a Heinkel HD 25 / Aichi Type 2
