As you can see, an underwhelming attack at Pearl. Geoff and I decided to do a joint AAR to raz each other, and to comment on the mod. Looking at China, I can already see that the stacking limits will be problematic.

I am extremely disapointed with the performance of the Nell and Betty drivers, I probably should go out back and beat them with a sword. I am assuming the accuracy reduction in the Babes mods is the reason.

Being non-Catholic, I assume the Japanese are not happy with the Pope conferring its "blessing".

Amazing how good those 4 stackers are, especially since only the Fubuki I's seem to be able to hit the broad side of a barn for my Imperial Awesomeness.

Geoff and I decided to do a joint AAR to raz each other, and to comment on the mod.

Um.......Jim Moore and I are trying to do a joint AAR too and it's not working out so well for me. Jim is a really good guy though and
I don't want to hurt his feelings so I hesitate to "leave" his AAR w/o a good reason. OPSEC is coming between me and my desires
for the AAR....I want to share my plans and ideas and that would definately help out Jimbo. I've been trying to just attach the picture
I would use and let the user click on the attachment but I have evidence that not many readers do that and just ignore the post and go
to the next one instead. So I don't know what else to do here, (1) start my own AAR? risk losing a friend ( Jim ) in the process. or
(2) just ride this one out and the next AAR will be private. Yeah, I can live with that.

Sorry, I completely missed what mod you guys are playing. Is it anything like RA 4.2 per chance?

The format does not lend itself to planiing, that is for sure. I figure any real excitement will get played out here with a turn or two lag. We ar Playing Babes C w/ stacking limits. Definately not the JFB wetdream scenario. I figure if I can push hard and fast, I'll at least be viable til mid-late 43.

Kuching, Tarakan, Kuala Lumpur all should be attacked on the 27th of Dec., Manila, Clark field and Subic Bay are all contested by the IJA. Units are prepped for major targets in the next 15 days. Part of me feels badly for pushing hard, but at least I am operating under air cover.

I agree absolutely, I think Raiden should share all his plans with us in detail.

Here's an email exchange we just had:

Raiden: You are doing one of the most effective Sir Robins I have seen Do you think the Mod has any effect on your decision to do so?

Me: Had to Google "Sir Robin" to see what you mean. No, the mod has nothing to do with it. From the first time I played the AI that's been my strategy. Don't worry about the inevitable, cut your losses, and delay the opponent's strategy as much as possible. I've edited it from one go to the next, sometimes in some places a bit more of it, sometimes less. Of course this is from hindsight, the actual contestants were still fighting WWI to some degree and had to learn the hard way. The reality of air power, both land and sea was not understood by most. All us wargamers try to out Napoleon Napoleon, and R E Lee (and Pierre Toutant de Beauregard as well). Starting in '43 if not sooner, I'll be trying my U S Grant immitation.

end of quotes.

I'm trying something a bit different in Luzon than usual, but I'm not sure it's working very well.

It's Dec 28th by the way.

Oh by all means imitate US Grant. Take up cigar smoking, drink strong whiskey ... it helps when the going gets tough!

Clark falls on the 29th, Gorn's Luzon strategy seems to be not worth repeating.
If anyone wants to take pity on a lurker, I have a world map pic of Imperial bases as of Dec 30.

The way I see it, the troops lost at Clark won't be wasting supplies in Manila or Bataan.

Oh no, I was not trying to point out any spelling errors or typos - I'm not that picky and I knew what you meant, so why nit-pick. I just wanted to comment that emulating past leaders requires adopting some of their habits. Just try imitating Gen. Hooker ...
