7 end Finland - Several Soviet divisions surrender and the bottleneck potential is gone.

7 end AGC - Pocket is crushed and 7 Soviet divsions march into captivity. He begins a general retreat. I am rather pleased with the progress here as half the Panzers have been stripped away.

7 end AGS - He is going to have to make a move in the south soon or face a huge pocket. Odessa is an oddity but creates a unique issue which will have to be dealt with.

Turn 7 swamp - The swamp is isolated and a few pockets show up.

Turn 8 AGN - He has a big commitment here but its in the wrong place. I am very confident at this juncture Leningrad will fall.

Turn 8 AGC - not much to say 2nd Panzer steadily probes forward and gets the occasional small pocket.

Turn 8 AGS - The river line finally crumbles not due to attacks but because of the potential of a large pocket forming which my opponent has been very good at dodging.

Turn 8 destroyed - somewhat steady digestion of a number of Soviet units each turn but no huge pockets.

Turn 9 AGN - His misplaced strength is more evident as a Panzer Corps bursts into the rear. I opted to head towards Leningrad instead of to the south for a small pocket.

Turn 9 AGC - Bryansk and the industry in the hex (AP and HI) fall. I sort of lost track of AP and HI killed but its somewhere near 16 each which is essentially him giving up a few small amounts so he can evacuate the big stuff further back.

Turn 9 Odessa - He is evacuating Odessa but the Interdiction is bleeding him a little bit. One attack on Odessa was thrown back.

Don't read too much into my moves - many of them don't make much sense.

That's too bad Ketza, the Soviets are far from done and I was enjoying this "casual AAR"

Stalin won't be happy with such a surrender so early in the war.

Hmmmm

1 of my current German opponents was doing a bit better than you at this stage both in terms of terrain and Russian casualties inflicted. He continued to make good progress. I'm not resigning but it's T 16 and he's asked for a restart! Perhaps you should take over from him

Kind of a premature ending. Soviet player has to accept that holding Leningrad is far from a sure thing in this game, but it's also not a game killer if you manage it well enough. I'm totally ok with people resigning from hopeless situations, but this isn't one of them.

It happens. I was actually enjoying playing the Axis for once as my last few Axis games were very frustrating.
