prior to Sov activation, can the Allies ship Resources or Oil to Sov bases?

or send a few AKs to set up a CS convoy between Sakhalin & the Sov mainland?

i've just conquered Paramushiro, w/ big plans for advancing down the Kurile chain - i'll be able to cover the shipping w/ PBY NavSearch and mebbe even P-38 LRcap.

also, i need to moan that the refinery at Ohka ain't repairing, despite an abundance (155k) of supply. are Sov factories preventing from repairing until activation?

My understanding is that any Allied ships that enter a Soviet port (at least prior to activation) are stuck there for the duration.

Not answering the question but related: IRL about a hundred US AKs were shipping lend-lease goods to Wladiwostok throughout the war, unmolested by the Japanese because the US ships were travelling under Sowjet colors. I think many of those AKs are in the game, but of course are being used for other duties. Much has been said on the forum about the need to "nerf" Japan's shipping due to its historic inefficient use (split between Army, Navy and Civilian Commerce and running half of the time in ballast) - but few if any have advoctated a similar need for nerfing US shipping due to the lend-lease traffic... JFBs where are you?

As far As I know you can not ship Resources or Oil to Sov bases because you can not dock allied ships prior to Sov activation.

But you can send some amphibious TF with supplies from the US to soviet bases. That does not alway work ..simply let the amphibious TF move 1 hex before the soviet base..and than next turn it is maybe possible to unload the amphibious TF at the soviet base.

Hope it helps..

thanks for the answers, guys.

i'll invest a YO & 2 AKLs, along w/ an AK for fuel support. and after 40 or so game-days, i'll be able to verify what you've told me.

And if the programmers ever get bored, they can add code that allows for a small chance that if an Allied sub encounters a Soviet ship, it will attack. Four Soviet ships were sunk this way IRL.
