This is not a new idea, as the USMC has been studying the idea of using shuttle-type vehicles for fast transport of strike teams ( a la Starship Troopers' mobile infantry) to anywhere on the globe. I could see this happening within the next 10 years.

The article is about how Sci-Fi movies/serials are wrong about practically everything.

I loved the newer Battlestar Galactica Series. The sow was about People in a Sci-Fi era not about Sci-Fi only. Just like I absolutely loved Babylon 5 for about the same reasons.
