Where are you for research re: Ki-84b and Ki-84r? Where are you re: kamikaze activation? Where are you for HI reserves?

Hi is 117K with about 4K/day added

Frank b - 2/45 - 15 R&D (fully repaired) 19% to advancing a month Plan on switching these to r model when the date gets closer
Frank r - 7/45

No where near Kami activation. He just invaded Dili (N of Oz) Still own Guam/Sipan and northern part of New G. I think he is going to try and win without activating Kami's

. No idea if that is even possible.

Oil is down to 500K but fuel is at 1.3M

This is all Scenerio 2 as there was no way I would play Japan as my first time PBEM without a boost of some kind lol.

Thnaks for the responses everyone. Also appoligies to the OP for kind of hijacking the thread. I can hope that my information and questions are helpful to you in some way

The Grace over Judy? I assume becasue the grace can carry a torp?

Garce and Judy will not get until 8/44, 5c already in Prod
Judy D4Y4 - no research - 2/45 availability
Sam - no research - 6/45 availability

Already in pod

All the rest listed are also in Prod execpt Ki83 (10/45 availability, 2 R&D factories need to repair then it can start advancing) and Frank b version 2/45 availability 19% towards an advance.

Never built any Oscars as thought they were not worth it. A gun value of 6 for the Oscar IIIa versus 12 for the ToJo IIc. Even the Oscar IV version only goes to a value of 8 gun value. What am I missing?

Grace is fast as hell and carry a torp or 2 250kg bombs. It has a very good range and can be used both on CV and for LBA. Defenetly the best naval bomber you can have at this stage

SAM should be advanced to 1944, when your CVs still may have a chance to hurt the enemy. In 1945, even if they are afloat, they are more or less useless anyway.

the D4Y4 should get advanced in order to have some LBA single engine bombers able to carry a 800 kg bomb. The range is bad thou.

Frank-B should have priority over any other late war fighter imho. As Pax thought me, it has the best combination of speed-mvr and gun accurancy you can have as Japan.

Oscars? well they are needed for escort and for Kami role. Probably the cheapest and best Kamikaze plane out there. Also the OScar IV has two decent CL Ho-5 Cannon... better than any zero and probably better than the Frank-a for what concerns gunnery

Good to know I was not wrong about the Franks at least

. Also I will get the Grace fairly soon so will definately switch over to those.

Unfortunately too late to add R&D factories on the rest though. Thanks so much for the added explaination.

Hey CB, just my opinions. Late war, focusing helps me. 4E's will get through. Focusing on just a few models and having it spread out means you can't end up with /ac factories, but no engine factories (or vice versa). If you are still trying to produce 12 different a/c in '45 with 6 different engines, the allied bombing campaign is just that much easier. OTOH if you are only trying to build 2 or maybe 3 fighter platforms, things are very much easier.
