There can only ever be one favorite for me. It was decided over 30 years ago when I first watched an episode of Baa Baa Black Sheep.

As ungainly as it is beautiful. Fast, tough, versatile. F4U.

I´m going to second obvert!

Its one of the most beautiful aircraft ever created. My absolute favorite aircraft since I was a child.

A hard choice, I must say.

From aesthetic viewpoint I always liked Ki-43 and its older brother Ki-84.

If we talk about a plane featured in AE, that I consider the best/most useful combatant overall IRL - P-51D Mustang (Ki-84, even assuming a perfectly assembled and serviced plane, which were scarce by late war, lacked in high-altitude performance and range, by comparison). For that matter, in terms of aesthetics it gets my second prise.

If we talk about the most ridiculously strong (for its year) plane in AE - P-47D Thunderbolt. 4E bombers collectively share the second place.

P-38 Lightning, the "Fork-Tailed Devil".

Richard Bong, US top ace during WWII, loved this plane too!

Yeah, I'd go for that one too. The F4 is a beauty. The P51D comes close, though.

I'll go for the Sonia too

If it is already out of market, then I would go for Oscar (on the dark side) and A-20 strafer

Apart from the Beau I have to say I have a soft spot for the Boomerang. To some it has looks only a mother could love, but to me it's beautiful. It's just a pity it's performance didn't match it's punacious looks. Live footage of one in Broome, Western Australia a couple of years ago:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTULWOfbXwQ&feature=related
