ORIGINAL: pontiouspilot Bullwinkle...thanks, I agree...but, I have read somewhere on here that if I download the new stuff it won't attach onto a pre-existing game. Do you know? Most/all(?) of the changes to the EXE file will take. What you're getting in the patch is, I believe, just a whole new EXE file. If the pwhex file changes (this is the map) the save game launcher will sense that the old and new disagree and ask you if you want to swap in the new. You click 'y' once and it does it. Where you will not get many of the updates is in the device database and in the unit OOB. Some of these changes take, but many are baked into the game when the first turn is generated. If this were a case of replacing one of the beta patches with the final patch I'd say play on. Many PBEM players are playing with old, in some cases quite old, verisons. But the stock game as shipped was a mess in places. Just d/l the last patch and read the update notes back to the very first patch. It's many pages long. It's your game and your time investment, but if it were me I'd patch it up snuff and start a new game with all I learned from the current one. One option you could also try is to reinstall a new instance of the game in a differnet folder, patch it up to date, and play ten turns or so and see if you like the update enough to dump your current game. In pilot management alone you'll save scores of hours fiddling over the course of a grand campaign.
