Just finished playing the 2nd Kharkov campaign vs. AI on normal - finished at a draw. I could have won, if I have had the idea to bomb the last bridge where Soviet supplies were rolling. So maybe next time. Also I was quite impressed by the AI, that was indeed able to create some trouble with some loose tank and cavalry units in my back.

Then I looked up some facts about the battle:

Quite interesting to see that the Germans and their allies only had about 20 K casualties while the Russian side had about 277 K, not to mention huge numbers of tanks and aircrafts. I wonder if it would be even possible to achieve similar results in the game. Did anybody achieve a stunning victory with similar loss ratios in that scenario?

207.000 were prisoners, that is difficult to replicate in the game

The Russians were slow to react to the initial thrusts of the panzer divisions, and by the time they realized what was up, it was too late and too far for them to pull back before being pocketed.

There was some interesting quote I read somewhere by a Russian after the battle when asked what went wrong...something like: The Germans can read a map.

“My logisticians are a humorless lot … they know if my campaign fails, they are the first ones I will slay.” – Alexander the Great
