And what is that 60mm weapon on Thor? I have never seen that before.

I believe the Raiders Thor and Michel operated in the IO/Pacific theatre during 1942-1943.

IIRC one was sunk by an American submarine and the other had some sort of fire (accident?) in a Japanese port.

I read about it the other evening. The German resupply ships scheduled to replenish Thor exploded in port and showered Thor with flaming debris which quickly set her ablaze. It was apparantly powerful enough where it set another German ship on fire as well as a Japanese cargo ship.
All four ships burnt to the water line and were total losses and there were hundreds of casualties because the ships caught fire so quickly.

Here are some details about THOR lost:

30 November 1942:
German raider THOR, supply ships UCKERMARK (ex ALTMARK) and LEUTHEN (ex NANKIN), and the Japanese UNKAI MARU No.3 are sunk at Shin-Minato Wharf, Yokohama Harbor by accidental explosion aboard UCKERMARK.

The German raider SCHIFF 10 / THOR (Kpt.z.S. Gumprich) is tied up alongside the supply ship UCKERMARK (ex ALTMARK) (KKpt. von Zatorski) at #8 berth to be refurbished for another cruise. Chinese coolies were cleaning UCKERMARK´s tanks, and though the cause of the explosion was never explained the assumption was that the workers had perhaps been careless when chipping rust, or had maybe even been smoking nearby inadequately cleaned tanks. 13 of THOR´s men were killed in the explosion which could be heard from miles away. 53 from UCKERMARK died as well as an unknown number of Chinese and Japanese. Also lost were the prize LEUTHEN (ex NANKIN) at #6 berth, the Japanese UNKAI MARU No.3 at #7 berth and some harbour boats. Gumprich himself had just left THOR in his launch to go over to the NANKIN.

The main armament was camouflaged of course and normally not visible, but the 6cm gun was installed in the open in order to disguise Thor as an Allied ship - since most Allied merchantmen were armed as well. It was occasionally used to fire warning shots accross the bow of enemy ships in order to signal them to stop.
