Oct 25, 26, 27, 28 : Amchitka continues to be a battle ground. Gilberts & Marshalls increased activity. Key: TT = Torpedo; bb = ground bombardment; c = casualties; b = base hits; s = supply hits; r = runway hits; p = port hits; f = fuel hits; AV = Assault Value; DC = Depth Charged; (*) = destroyed aircraft; Subs: Silverside is 4 East of Ponape. She is run over by CA Furutaka, 1 CL, 4 DDs on 25th. Flying Fish is run over by same TF on 28th 4 SW of Kwajalein. I-21 is 5 West of Pearl and get a TT hit on Grouper (she limps to within 2 hexes of Pearl with over 90 flood damage). Will she make it?? I-21 has moved to 3 SW of Pearl and my 3 SC ASW TF finds her. They get two hits and force her to surface, but don't report her sunk. This is at least the second time a SC only ASW TF has gotten a sub to surface, but did not sink her. I have ordered a DD to merge with my 2 ASW TF to add support and larger guns. Tunny was unlucky at Amchitka, but get a TT hit on a PB at Attu. CVs: Japanese CVs (at least Akagi & Kaga) are spotted 6 West of Amchitka on 28th. India/Burma: Troops continue to march south. No opposition yet. See screnshot. It took me some time to realize 'no' and then I had to channel MacArthur and plan to land at empty bases later to isolate this base. In this mod, I have plenty of construction engineers. There are multiple dot bases between Amchitka and Attu that can be built up. I hope to keep 4th Division here in a POW camp. Two Combat Engineer units at Kodiak are 'now' prepping for bases further south. Marshalls - Nick has moved a CA centered SC TF to this area while I only have a few PT boat TFs and only 2 DDs. Plans are to send BB South Dakota, 2 modern CLs, and the Fletcher DDs (after their 11/42 upgrades). Mili is next on the invasion schedule. Burma - see screenshot. I'm moving south out of India and it looks like he is not defending the eastern part of the country. PPs will be spent here for the next few months to free up troops for the re-conquest.
