Stock Scenario 1, PDU off, one days turns.
This is an AAR between two cherries. Mark is running the Japanese and I'm running the Allies. Other than an AI game that lasted to 1943 (me) or mid-1942 (Mark) we have no idea what we are doing... as will no doubt become clear - at least on my part. I copied this AAR format from zuluhour - thanx. I'm going with weekly game turns to catch up with where we are now.
House rules: KB strikes PH and runs away for a day or two. No Japanese landings where the presence of Japanese transports would have been a casus belli and imperiled the PH task force. Force 'Z' not required to sortie. Other rules to be adopted as required.
Pre-war Allied planning:
China: We decide to play a quiet China since Mark's game turns are running four to six hours. Minor repositioning for garrison allowed and one Chinese corp tapped for Burma.
Malaya: Based on playing the AI I elect to rush everything back to Singers post haste. As many units as possible will be evacuated to Java and a Fortress Palembang will be created.
Burma: Give up everything south of Katha(!).
India: Build up Akyab, Chittagong and Cox's Harbor. Keep 2 DIV equivalent in Madras and Calcutta.
Philippines: Again, based on playing the AI I will pull all my forces back to Manilla and Clark Field. Get the planes out.
DEI: Again again (in several cases assuming that the a PBEM opponent will play like the AI does not in fact lead to the optimum outcome) I'll try to build up forts in Ambon, Koepang and Kendari. Planning to hold until mid-42.
SwPac-SoPac: Rush everything possible to New Caledonia and New Hebrides, here is where my main counter attack will start from.
Dec 7-13, 1941
Air war: In Malaya on 12/7 the Brits try the 1st of several attempts to mess with the invasion fleets. As will be all to common we lose a couple of a/c to no affect. To me this shows a requirment for mass to have any effect.
