Sadly passed away. A great historian.

Hopefully he is with all those soldiers he wrote about and listening to even more first hand accounts.

Yikes, I hate to hear it. I enjoyed every book he wrote. RIP.

Sadly passed away. A great historian ...

More than just a historian, he was a "real time" military analyst.

When I was in-country during Desert Storm, I recall Keegan predicted that although Iraq held its own with Iran, it was still a "Third World" power that wouldn't last more than a few days against the modern US-led coaltion once the ground war began, despite all the claims to the contrary made by Time and the rest of the liberal press.
