Just saw a message "torpedo fails to fire aboard ss Grayling".
Was this included in the latest patch? as i have not seen it before.
Are circular torpedo runs simulated?

Once I tried to mod a submarine to fire 12 tubes and the message "I-301 suffers malfunction"

anything above 8 and the message appears

could be a hard-coded maximum of 8 torpedoe tubes

seems to apply to kaitens as well

It has two pairs of tubes red. When firing it showed the "failed to
launch" message, & then "firing 1xMK14 torpedo".
Light system damage, last hit by 12cm gun.

Running a slightly modified babes-light. The only change
to sub data was to give Narwhal class top speed of 16 knots.
Does anyone know if circular running(defective) torpedoes are in the
game?
