What are the best ways to destroy supply at an enemy base? Does that differ between island and non-island bases?

Airfield attacks seem to destroy supply points...if you notice on the replay summaries.

Best way to destroy enemy supplies in base is bomb AF or port. Those two attack have chance to hit base supplies.

More supplies in base more will be destroyed as hits destroy % of supplies in base.

You also have to factor in that damage has to be repaired, so it is a double dip sometimes.

Yes but your engineers won't be doing what they're supposed to be doing if they are repairing, and repairs take first priority.

I realize that. You can really give your opponent fits if you select the correct bombing mission. Based on repair priority and such..

Have a read of this thread.

http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3018738&mpage=1&key=supply%2Cdestruction?

1. A base is a base. It doesn't matter whether it is on a continental land mass or a fly speck of an atoll. However different fortification levels do impact on the loss of supply.

2. In terms of mission efficacy for destroying depot supply, airfield attack tends to achieve better results than port attack but the latter mission has the benefit that it might also destroy stockpiled fuel.

3. Just to clarify the issue, it does not cost any supply to repair damaged base infrastructure. See current thread in War Room which discusses this issue.

4. If you launch a city attack mission, it will cost 1000 supply points (together with a 10k supply point bond to start repairs) to repair each damaged industry point. That however is a strategic, not a tactical mission.

Every supply hit eliminates number of supply, depending of EFFECT of weapon. So your best bet is NAVAL BOMBARDMENT by Battleships. Island/non-island have not much influence (unless they are overstacked), but any in-land base is pretty safe.
Some planes carry bigger bombs (for example some early Dutch bombers carry 300kg), so they would be preffered. Remember that number of bombs on one plane, rarely translate itself into much more hits.

If it island, port attacks also have chance to destroy/damage CD guns. That is, if you plan to invade. Also, attacking land units directly can be helpful, since replacing damaged/destroyed squads and devices eat supply.
