Don't know where to ask, but will it sometime in the future be possible to zoom? I really miss it.

It does zoom, I use CTRL and my mouse wheel to do it.

Either way I like it

Yep Roger, must be your Mac operating system, as it doesn't work for me either.

Ah well, I hesitate, briefly, to extol the virtues of the Mac.

But only briefly.

Well in truth windows has this function too with the "Ease of Access center".. allow you to zoom at will. I never use it but if I did I'd only do it in windowed mode.

I found another Mac buddy.

I run Fusion but I've never tried it. Why do you zoom anyway? I should see if it works next turn I get.

I run AE in windowed mode on a dual monitor system so i also have other 'vital' information screens up....

At times the resolution on the window of AE is a tad small for me to check things like which direction the LYBs are moving, by zooming I can see the little arrows.

That's really the only reason I use it.

Understood.

Now you got me curious, what flavor of Mac do you have and how do you do it? I have an old 17" monitor left over from my last PC standing around that I've briefly considered hooking up as a second monitor, but my iMac doesnt have any interface aside from USB that I could use for that purpose.

I run mine on a macbook pro which has an external monitor out on its array of ports. I then use a convertor from Apple that turns it from their square type output socket to a VGA that runs my second (ex PC) monitor. The resolution isn't the same, but it does give me a lot more screen space.

Ah, makes sense. Two of my 4 monitors at work run on similar converters.

From the list on that page it would seem most models will have a connector you can get, I have seen reports that the newest models will run up to 4 monitors......

Use a macbook pro here too (with VMware fusion running XP), and yeap, the ctrl-mousewheel thing is an os x feature. There is a windows app that adds the same affect:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897434.aspx

Works with XP and higher.

For my next experiment, I'm trying to run the game on my home theater system with a wireless mouse and keyboard. I'll see how getting my behind kicked on a 55" tv looks!

... just one look and then my heart went boom
Suddenly and we were on the moon
Flying high in a neon sky, oh

Bang, just one touch and all the church bells rang
Heaven called and all the angels sang
Sunrise shine in the midnight sky, oh

Zoom, you chase the day away
High noon, the moon and stars came out to play
And then, my whole wide world went zoom

etc etc
