Status: offline 		Hello fellow wargamers.

A question arose: does it make any sense to attempt tp llay any WWI scenario with the

widely known and discussed here on numerous occasions issue associated wit the latest game

patch - even a low quality unit is able to withstand heavy assaults or cause a severe turn

burm provided it's well entrenched which is always the case in the latter WWI stages. I am

talking about such scenarios as Cambrai 1917, St. Mihel 1918 or Meuse- Aragone 1918 etc.

Currently I am still playing the waters of the Dneper '41 scenario by Pavel Volyov ( if I

can remember the title and the names correctly )and what I am having there is actually

indeed WWI situation - the border battle is raging well into the late July '41, the Germans

et al are unable to make a breakthrough of any kind as even igf the Russian units are of

low quality, there are plany of the to rotate in and out of the first line and create a

defence in depth perfectly immune to penetrations.Throughout 30 odd turns I once managed to

have two tactical rounds - with high quality veteran German units well rested and supplied

in most locations.Outrageous!

... and what about the ships not attempting to employ their AA capability? has it been

solved yet?

Any suggesstions?

Ultimately, we await 3.5 but in the meantime you could adjust the attrition divider and the MRPB settings. These will make a difference.

As for ships... it is rumoured that TOAW III has a naval model but as yet I have been unable to find it.

Just had alook at Dneiper 2.0 by Pavel Voylov. Attrition Divider is set to 50 so casualties are 0.2 of normal.....

By the way, have you given any thought to updating Operation Krasniy Grom for 3.4? It remains one of my favourites and I would love to see a brand new version of it. No pressure though...

The important thing to remember is that nobody expects TOAD Tuesday.

How do you mean simple

patch 3.0 released 11-06
patch 3.1 released 01-03
patch 3.2 released 21-09
patch 3.4 released 04-02

For me is that 4 differend dates.

How do you mean simple

patch 3.0 released 11-06
patch 3.1 released 01-03
patch 3.2 released 21-09
patch 3.4 released 04-02

For me is that 4 differend dates.

Well there you are. If you look closely at those dates you will see that they all fall on a Tuesday give or take three days.

It was just my reply in regards of the 3.5 status; not your original question about the WW1 scenarios. There are scenarios of your fellow countryman, Jarek Flis, called the 'Forgotten Battles'; they all work fine in 3.4. Same goes for Todd Klemme's WW1. I'd adjust the MRPB though, according the the tests Bob Cross did.

I've just gotten back from my yearly canoeing stint so I hadn't been able to respond earlier - ofcourse, I didn't mind any side chatter nor do I, it's always good to see the people inspired by the issues and topics I happen to rise, even if that gets a bit off control, so to speak.

Yes, I know those scenarios, I think, as far as I can remember,that once the French are required by force of a house rule to attack all along their front lines per requirements of the infamous Plan XVII, it happens that the Germans suffer casualties minor to none which I think it the way the latest patch works over the scenario.
