Hi all

Just purchased the game and had a quick look at the Directive 21 scenario which i think it said was version 1. So i download the 2.3 version and install that but get a "wrong eqp file" error.

Looking at the dates of the files in the graphics folder they seem to be 'older' than the ones in the fresh game install. This is odd as the files that went in the scenario folder were, as expected, newer.

HOWEVER - not sure i installed it correctly......

Something i was confused about was that it said to make a new Directive 21 folder - but there was already one there (although it was called "Directive 21 1941-1945". So i didn't make a new folder, just deleted the files in it and copied in the ones from the download. And why does it say these files must be added individually, which again i didn't do, as i couldn't see that it made any difference.

Are the wrong files in the download (highly unlikely), should i have set up the second Directive 21 folder in the graphics folder and left the original one alone?

Any advice on what i should do to get things working correctly would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

You must indeed make a new folder in Graphics named "Directive 21" and put the eqp and graphic files from the download into that folder. The version of D21 that comes with 3.4 is named "Directive 21 1941 - 1945". The new version just calls itself "Directive 21"

Equipment files and scenario specific graphics must reside in a folder in /Graphics that is named exactly after the scenario file name.

thanks
errors have gone away :)

however why does the new 2.3 version seemingly have 'older' files (from 2009) than the version that came with the version 1 base install (with files from 2010)

cheers

Sanderz,

Don't worry about the file dates on some of the files. The important one is the file date on the .sce file. That should be 28/04/2011.

Make sure that the name of the scenario at the top of the game screen says "Directive 21" and not "Directive 21 1941 - 1945".

Best wishes,
Steve
