I have just received a PBEM turn from my opponent. In his email he describes how some of his unescorted bombers were badly mauled.

When I watch the combat replay I see no air combat at all that turn. My intel screen show no enemy a/c lost that turn and my groups on patrol in that area show no more enemy kills. A few of the pilots did gain some exp, general and air-air.

Is this just FOW?

We are playing the vanilla Buccaneer small scenario.

That's not FOW, it sounds like a sync bug. First you must make sure you both are using same game version. Different game version is the most common reason for sync bug. Then you can check that you both are using same message delay settings.

Thanks Puhis

after talking a little more with my opponent it turns out it it was just a misunderstanding. He was referring to air losses on a previous turn.

I know WitP use to have a problem with synch bugs. Does AE have a similar problem or is it a little more robust in that respect?

mantill, AE is much more robust regarding the synch bug. The only known causes are when the two opponents are not running the exact same release and patch level of the game.
