I'm playing a game with the "Crates Hidden AI" turned on. Some of these crates transform into Research Labs. What is a Research Lab, what does it do, and how do I activate it?

It works similiar to the raw and oil hexes except that it produces political points (8 per turn if I recall correctly).
Hence all you have to do in order to activate it is to conquer the hex it is located in.
