I seem to recall when AE came out , that there was a map that could be downloaded, brought to a printer (like Kinko's) on a flash drive and be printed to a wall size map that was readable. Does anyone know off hand which map is the scaleable one? Thanks.

Hi Steve,

It's on the "root" AE menu. There are several different versions, depending on the goodies you want on it:

The AE Planning Map (This Thread) has a number of .jpg versions of the map. I used #5 (Basenames), but cropped and reduced it to a 24x30 version (I was trying to fit it to a magnetic whiteboard). If you have the wallspace, the full-size version is approx 9'x11'.

There was a thread on this subject. PPL were printing out the planning maps however they were a little fuzzy for the eyes.

I think Kinkos is a franchise .. I think some stock a 36" wide rolling stock printer. If one truly wanted to print a 9' wide map in three strips I might suggest a speciality shop. Using Photo paper printing a full scale color wall map would be between $1200 - $1500 ... lower grade paper would reduce the price significantly.

Any engineering, architecture or lumber yard can do large prints.

As an old time board wargamer. The one thing I really don't like about computer wargames is, that you cannot see the entire map at once. Being able to do so adds quite alot to the gaming experance.

Please do let us know how this works out for you.
