A different AAR

Post by Jajusha »

Introduction: This will be a different kind of AAR. Instead of following the flow of the conflict, i will follow 1 corps, in Particular, the LVI corps under the command of Eric von Manstein.

The LVI corps starts with 103 support guns and an extra of 24 Panzerjager

Under its command, it has:
3rd Motorized Division
14.540 men
204 guns

290th Infantry Division
16.635 men
182 guns

8th Panzer division
15.656 men
139 guns
49 Panzer IIc
118 Panzer 38(t)E
20 Panzer IVe
10 Panzer IVc

Situation report as of Turn 2
Minor resistance faced, soviets scattered and we where able to secure the river crossing.
The 290th Infantry will help to capture some encircled soviet divisions while the 8th Panzer and 3rd Motorized will keep pushing forward.

Damaged 10 Panzer 38th to mechanical problems, but other then that no major losses to report

Situation report as of Turn 3

3rd Motorized dashed to secure a river crossing on the way to Velikie Luki, and surprised 2 soviet rifle divisions supported by an Art Regiment and some Sappers that where attempting to cross.
Combat was short, both rifle divisions where routed when the first german guns started shooting, and we lost only 400 men and 5 Art guns to the soviet 4000 casualties and 100 gun losses. No air support was called.

8th Panzer halted in a defensive position to resupply and repair before attempting a push just south of Pskov, at the river bend. All Panzer 38(t) were sent back as the mechanical problems keep delaying our advance, and instead we got a new batch of Panzer IIIh, right now, we have only 74 operational Panzers due to our 280 miles dash:
26 Panzer IIc
36 Panzer IIIh
12 Panzer IVe

290th Infantry is marching forward. No casualties to report.

Radio chatter indicates Minsk was taken, and Mogilev captured down South.

very intresting idea indeed. it's like the "hibiki" AAR in the WITP forum where a user followed the fate of a single japanese DD throughout the war.

good work.

by the way:

are you playing against the AI or a human opponent?

This is a fun idea! It would be useful to plot morale, experience and TOE% for the involved units...
