That's the sound I make on backpacking trips when the chaffing finally gets to me.

CR, are you getting old and grumpy?
It wasn't me that invaded Juneau!
My wife (THE Cheif Mate) has ancestors goin' back to Mayflower days. Not only that.............
She's part Algonquin.......Do you know what that means...............?
Her ancestors were not only on the boat..........
Some of 'em were waitin' ashore for that boat to come in!

Even I get tired of Yankee humor at times!

Regards

Well, I was trying to be funny.    It's a cool recording that I've seen before a few times.

I have heard this a few times. Sounds like a pack of wolves. No big deal at first but then very intimidating.

As Tom Petty once said:

"...Even before my Father's Fathers,
They... called us all Rebels...
Burned down our cornfields,
They left our cities leveled...
I can still feel the eyes...
Of those Blue Bellied Devils
When I'm walkin' round tonight
Through the concrete and metal...

Hey, Hey, Hey!"

Every year, Yankee and Confederate veterans would meet at Gettysburg. Those meets, part of July 4th celebrations, lasted into the '50s, until the last veteran passed away (he was a Reb...).

Great Link! It was not difficult to imagine the effect of the combined voices of several hundred Rebels at close range...

Fascinating. I always wondered what the 'Yell' was like. As Mac has stated, it must have been unnerving at the least when that cry went up and they came at you.

Thanks for sharing.

I think it gave them the an advantage for the first part of the war at the very least.
