Hi Folks,

I posted this in the Tech Support forum and thought it might be better suited for this forum.

witpqs and I are playing DBB mod with the stacking limits. I wanted to rebuild the Japanese 1st division so I could have another high experience division to send somewhere other then the Russian border. When I buy something out, I like to buy all the pieces. Anyway, I gathered all the elements into one city and pressed the Rebuild unit button. It looks like it lost all of the infantry squads. AV is down to 140ish when I had expected over 400. Am I missing something about rebuilding this unit? Here is a link to the original thread. There are some screen shots of before and after.

You'll need to open the editor, but I suspect that the parent unit has an different (upgraded?) inf unit.  If that is the case, then you will have to rebuild all of those squads.  Or, go back and use the device manager to hoard enough so that you can upgrade prior to recombining.  Then you won't have the loss.  I don't have the dbb scenario handy, so I can't check it now.

Yes it appears your 1st Division is missing the "IJA Hvy Inf Sqd 41" device. Most divisions have a good 300-350 infantry squads. Yours has none. You will need to modify the scenario to fix it.

The editor comes with a brief but useful manual. Read it thoroughly 2-3 times before doing these edits yourself. If this scenario was created by someone else, then I'm sure they'll be more than happy to fix it for you since it will be affecting everyone who plays it.

Thanks for the input guys. Since this is a PBEM game I am not sure I can edit the scenario. Guess I will have to RTFM!

Hello Andav,

There appears to be a thingy going on with the recombine. Working with michaelm on it. There is a relatively simple work around if you all want to use it.

Go to LCU 3676 (1st FA Rgt) and change Wpn 2 from 755 (15cm T96 How) to 750 (75mm T90 Fld Gun). 1st Div then recombines with all your squads.

If you both are cool with it, then make this one change to the DB, restart at the last turn before things went to poop, accept the update when prompted, and fire away.

M'kay, got it, know what's going on. I see that michaelm asked for a savegame, so by all means give him one. He's got a real-time fix, which is better than a workaround.

Please keep looking at things like this. There was a grit in the machine, but there could be others. If you find any, please let me know. Thanks
