What kind of planes loaded on a CVE would be labeled AUX?

That number goes for the entire TF. They're floatplanes on the cruisers.

.....and very possible that's not a CVE necessarily. Certainly it's some sort of CVL/CVE thing.

Sighting reports are guesses. Those are definitely warships though with air support.

FOW often throws in "auxiliary" aircraft at bases and TFs with planes. It indicates something there that is probably not a bomber or fighter (transport, floatplane, seaplane, recon, etc.) It may not be there though. I've noticed even with FOW off you get these when looking at a base.
