I started a new campaign using DaBigBabes B scenario and tried to sort out the China theater. As I understand, a HQ unit will lease its support squads to any needy unit in the same non-base hex. What I noticed is, it only works so, if an LCU's need is less or equal to the number of HQ's support squads. Go to hex 93,34 where the 17th Group Army leases around 50 of its support squads to the 11th Chinese Corps ( its "Support Required" number is in green, as described in the manual). It also works the same in another non-base hex at 87,48 (3rd Group Army and the 12the Chinese Corps) and 5-6 other non-base hexes where a HQ tends a single corps, whose support needs are smaller than the number of HQ's support squads at hand. Now, go to hex 86,49. There, 21st Group Army sits with two corps - 7th and 84th. The former needs around 20 support squads, the latter - around 80. The HQ DOESN'T LEASE its support squads to either! Is it WAD? Does it mean that any time, a single HQ can tend only a single corps? Same applies to hex 82,47 with 26th Group Army and its 6 corps - neither corp is using the 73 support squads of the HQ! Same in hex 83,47! Makes no sense! Everywhere on the map, where there is a non-base hex with a HQ and several LCU's, the HQ's support squads aren't used at all! In base hexes though, it seems to work as designed. Also, assume a single corps has i.e. 150 ready support squads and needs around 100 support squads, and a HQ in the same hex has 70, why the HQ doesn't lease them to at least partially alleviate the LCU's situation. The LCU "Support Required" line will be in red with value 100, and not 30! Does the above mean that: 1) in a non-base hex, a HQ will lease its support squads to ONLY ONE unit, provided the unit needs are LESS OR EQUAL to the amount of HQ support squads at hand? 2) if there are two or more needy units and one HQ in a non-base hex, NO UNIT will use HQ's support squads? Please help, because if the above is true, this means the Chinese LCU, with their tons of disabled units, have no hope of repairing themselves.
