A Modest Proposal

Post by Chet Guiles »

I suggest that an option be provided to turn off the automatic reporting of every single ship or station that has been upgraded when you make a tech update or upgrade any ships. It results in constant dinging of the annunciation sound, a constant rolling past of the list of ships updated -- and delays in important messages like your exploration ships getting killed by pirates.

I can't find any way to selectively turn off that "feature". If there is a way, holler at me someone. Thanks.

+1, +1, +1, +1, +1 (etc. until you run out of "1"s). This is not really an issue in the early game when you have a small fleet and only a handful of colonies. By the time you have 25 or so worlds and multiple fleets with umpteen automated escorts and frigates running around, this is just a nightmare. By the late game it's almost game killing. I'll have a screen pop-up noting that a world was colonized, but weeks will pass before it shows up on the rolling notification list. An "off" button, PLEASE!

This has been asked numerous times.

Several suggestions involve allowing the player the option to toggle attack notifications based on defender type. For example, the option to toggle attack notifications for explorers (during war, you'll likely see dozens of these for every attack on a military ship - but can't distinguish between them), civilian ships (you can't do anything about these anyhow) and military ships (which you do care about).

Hopefully it's something they're working on. As it stands, you can only toggle "under attack" messages - which seems to cover everything.

+1000 So annoying when one has like 2000 ships retro'ing and getting spammed for 30+ minutes straight. a toggle would be great.
