Well I think you can get decent, serious games on tablets. I'm looking forward to Angry Birds Admirals Edition.

Well I guess Mr. Warspite has not an Ipad, if he did he would have know there is already a angry birds WW2 edition. One of my favorite games is called "The Patriots US" You get to mow down hapless British redcoats as they try and invade Washington. Those damn Green Dragoons!!

Heck no Wodin! I have always enjoyed your posts. Both of my Grandfathers fought in world war 2, My dad, Korea, and his brother Vietnam. I am reminded everyday why they fought so others may have the right to speak their own opinion without the fear of being shot. I'm sure (and I hope) the people of the UK feel the same way.

According to Erik Rutins below. You don't have to worry as long as Erik continues with Matrix Games

I've only bought three computer games in the past ten years. All three came from Matrix. They were: UV, WitP, and WitP:AE. It's not the monster aspect of the game that's the main draw (I don't like alot of the micromanagement, to be honest): it's the depth of strategic thinking permitted, the three-dimensinoal warfare (under sea, surface, air) and the instrinsic draw/drama of this theater.

An announcement of something along these lines would definately be of interest, especially if it was called WitP II. :)

We are far from done making monster wargames. I've been spending a huge amount of time helping get World in Flames finished as well as moving War in the West forward and the "War in Europe" goal that we announced is probably the most ambitious monster wargame project we've attempted.

I would very much like to see a WITP 2 or another game similar to WITP whether in that theater or another. I'm as addicted to monster wargames as you all are. We started this company to make the games we all like to play and we'll keep doing that.

Regards,

- Erik

It's not just that game, it's wargaming in general. Lots of unnecessary clicking that use no streamlining at all. I've read the same complaints in the WiTE and WiTPAE forums. It gets tedious.

WITE has a very improved UI over WITP AE. WITE UI is brand new and while it could be better, it is definitely not from '90 like the WITP:AE one.

What I'm trying to say is that you don't need a 15 year old style of interface to have a deep strategy game.

Agreed.
But IMVHO the problem lies in wargaming desing in general. Wargamer devs are "old": apart from some notable exceptions (Commands Ops), there were not so many progress in PC wargame desing. Hexes, Movement Points, and other typical boardgame abstraction are still there even if the PC has progressed greatly since 1990.
TOAW is still played, it's a game designed in the 90s...
I'm not surprised that UI are so old.

(Sorry for my english!)

Wow, neat looking game, great concept !

Thanks all for the compliments!

I've been at it about 7 months now although in some ways I've been working on it in the back of my mind for my whole game playing life.

I figure I have about another year till its ready for beta. At least. It always takes longer than I think. I'm pretty close to starting on the AI which should be the most challenging and most fun part.
